Delete your Tarkka account
In the app
- Open Tarkka.
- Go to You → Account → Delete account.
- Confirm. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you may be asked to sign in once more to prove it's you.
You lose access straight away and are signed out on every device. Your data is erased from our servers within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account: your user ID, and the email address and name from Google or Apple if you signed in.
- Your membership of every household.
- Every household where you are the only member, with all of its lists, items, household memory and recipes.
Households you share with others
A household you share with other people stays for them, with its lists. If you own it, ownership passes to another member.
Items you added to its lists stay there, because they belong to the whole household. Your name is removed from them, and they show as added by "a former member".
Crash reports are not linked to your account and expire on their own after 90 days.
No longer have the app?
Email privacy@tarkka.app with the subject "Delete my Tarkka account". Send it from the email address of the Google or Apple account you signed in to Tarkka with, so we can find the account and know the request comes from you. We confirm when it's done, within 30 days.
If you never signed in, your account has no email address or name attached to it, so we can't find it from an email. Uninstalling the app does not delete the account, so delete it in the app before you uninstall.
Delete some data but keep your account
- Delete an item or a list in the app. It stays in "Recently deleted" for 30 days so it can be restored, and is then removed for good.
- Leave a household from You → Household. The household's lists stay with its other members.
- Signing out does not delete your data.
More detail is in our privacy policy.
